 In an effort to continue the incredible momentum that the organization has been enjoying this season, Superkarts! USA is thrilled to be able to officially announce the dates for their 2012 Pro Tour. The second edition of SKUSA’s West Coast circuit enjoyed significant growth this past season, and more is expected in 2012 when the series travels to Phoenix, AZ for the SpringNationals in April. The traditional July scheduling of the SummerNationals is set -- with the actual venue to be announced soon. As has been the case for the last 15 years, Las Vegas will play host to the SuperNationals in November.
For 2012, the Pro Tour will kick off with the third annual SpringNationals on April 20-22 at the Phoenix Kart Racing Association facility in Glendale, AZ. The venue for the SummerNationals is currently in the works, pending final discussions and a pair of site inspections on two potential locations. The date has been confirmed for the July 20-22 weekend. The traditional cap to the season will be the SuperNationals at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino on November 14-18, 2012 -- dates that have been contracted through 2013.
“I would have liked to have been able to officially announce both venues at this time, but we need to do a little more work before this can happen,” offers Tom Kutscher, Superkarts! USA President. “That said, I feel that it is important to our drivers and teams to get our dates out as soon as possible, so that they can begin assembling their 2012 travel schedules. We’re very close to a decision on the SummerNationals location, and I expect that it will be confirmed before we head to Las Vegas.”

 The completion of the Superkarts! USA ProKart Challenge West Coast Shootout signified the end of the 2011 season for the South regional program. The sixth and final event of the year helped to crown the champions for 11 categories that make up the series, counting the best five results on the season. Taking home the championships in the headline categories were Brad Dunford in S1 Pro Stock Moto and Travis Lowe in TaG Senior, each earning their first career SKUSA regional title. Also, thanks to their performances on the year, the champions for the TaG Senior, TaG Junior and TaG Cadet classes already have guaranteed starting spots on the SuperSunday grid at the Superkarts! SuperNationals XV in Las Vegas on November 16-20.
Dunford clinched the championship in Extreme Karting-sponsored S1 with his fourth victory of the season at the recent West Coast Shootout. Ending the season with three straight main event wins, Dunford was able to outscore last year’s champion Clinton Schoombee by 85 points. Ryon Beachner, the 2010 S2 champion, ended the year third in the S1 title chase as he edged out Peter Abba in the final standings. Beachner and Schoombee recorded one feature win on the season each.

Ever since the TaG Cadet class sold out at 40 entries on July 26th and then TaG Junior hit 40 racers on July 27th, the SKUSA staff has been diligently building and maintaining its wait lists for these classes. It's has all paid off for 40 more racers in each of these classes! Online registration was officially re-opened -- only to these patient wait listers -- and the classes are now approaching 80 actual entries for SuperNationals 15! Can you spell LCQ? to be added to the wait list. Be sure to include your class, driver name, contact phone number and email address. SKUSA will not be going over 80 in these classes, and are processing entries in order of those received IN WRITING and added to the wait lists.
SKUSA is also maintaining current wait lists for the S2, S4 and TaG Master classes, which have also sold out previously at 40 entries, and TaG Senior -- which has surpassed its initial field of 80 drivers! As no decision has been made yet on opening any of these classes to a larger group, the wait lists are the ONLY way to possibly still get in. Please do not call, as the office lines are maxed out!
