Friday, 21 February 2020 10:56

The ProKart Challenge is launching its 16th racing season this month, and remains one of the top regional karting programs in North America. What began as a gathering of fellow racers has grown into a top-level racing series that welcomes drivers from all over North America and countries from around the world. Based in the state of California, the series is ready for another five weekend, six-round championship program set to start on February 29-March 1 at the Buttonwillow Raceway Park in Buttonwillow, California.

The 2020 prize package for the ProKart Challenge is a very lucrative one, set at just over $120,000 to be awarded throughout the season and at the year-end awards ceremony. Over half of the 2020 total is set to be awarded throughout the six rounds of racing. Each daily podium features $7,500 in prizes for all categories – with first place earning a 2020 PKC Entry with tires, second place a 2020 PKC entry, and third place receiving a $50 MotorsportReg.com credit toward any PKC event. Superkarts! USA Confirms Record Breaking Prize Package For Upcoming 2020 SKUSA Pro Tour, Totaling Nearly $200,000
Tuesday, 18 February 2020 14:27
Fresh off the heels of announcing the shifter kart class expansion to include KZ engines, SKUSA is also pleased to unveil their 2020 prize structure for this year’s Pro Tour. In a move consistent with giving back to the customer, SKUSA is excited to confirm the largest prize package to date for the upcoming national championship.

“We spent a great deal of time speaking to teams and drivers in the paddock,” explained SKUSA president Tom Kutscher. “We asked a lot of competitors what prizes get them most excited, and to no surprise — cash is king. SKUSA will be taking it to the next level in 2020, and we couldn’t be more excited to once again be giving back to our racers.”

Even More Pro Class Weekend Prize Money
Prize money will be increased in Pro Shifter, X30 Senior, and even the X30 Junior class at the Winter, Spring and SummerNationals. SKUSA will be awarding a staggering $10,000* per class to the top five drivers in the overall point standings, cumulatively, for each weekend.

SuperKarts! USA Renews Partnership With Alpinestars For Multi-Year Deal
Sunday, 16 February 2020 18:14

Superkarts! USA has confirmed a multi-year partnership with Alpinestars, a worldwide leader in racing and safety gear. As the ‘official racewear of SKUSA,’ Alpinestars will continue to have a trackside presence and direct hand in ensuring the highest safety standards across all facets of 2020 SKUSA competition. The renewal furthers the initiatives of last year, which saw meaningful strides in enhancing and enforcing proper safety attire for competitors.

SKUSA shares the excitement of the alliance, and the push towards even safer racing. “Great competition is one thing, but I’m a real stickler for driver safety,” explained series principal Tom Kutscher. “Alpinestars’ products are second to none, and we couldn’t ask for a better partner as we usher in a new decade of Superkarts! USA racing.”

SKUSA To Allow KZ Engines To Run Alongside The 175SSE In Shifter Classes At The 2020 SKUSA ProTour And ProKart Challenge
Wednesday, 12 February 2020 10:05

With the 2020 incarnations of the SKUSA ProTour and ProKart Challenge just weeks away, Superkarts! USA is excited to confirm the expansion of their shifter kart classes to now include the popular KZ engine format. The move comes after careful deliberation between both factions of IAME USA, and valuable input from teams throughout the SKUSA paddock.

“We feel we have a shifter kart engine that’s second to none,” explained SKUSA’s principal Tom Kutscher. “That said, we would be lying if we said it’s been a perfect rollout. Various issues hindered the format at the very beginning, including an unfortunate one with the Tillotson carburetor. To their credit, they have worked tremendously hard alongside us to rectify the issues and we still consider them a valuable partner in the program. In recent months, the 175SSE has been rock solid and drivers continue to praise its durability and longevity. On the event side however, we are still a promotion company. Our customers’ input matters the most and we strive to be as inclusive as we can.”
