Pit Spots Reservations, Pit Rules & Tent Rentals for SuperNats 23 |
As always, we are working like crazy here at SKUSA headquarters to prepare for the biggest kart race in the world! We are excited to once again be back at the Rio Hotel and Casino – with our event located just outside the hotel in the parking lot. And with more than 550 racers expected, our goal is to fit everyone in as efficiently as possible, while giving the drivers and teams maximum exposure and minimum exertion. PLEASE read ALL of the directions below carefully and submit your pit spot request in writing only AS ONE COMPLETE PIT REQUEST! Email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or fax to 951-491-0809. We will acknowledge receipt of your pit request within 24-48 hours. If you have questions about your pit spot, please get answers to your questions BEFORE submitting your request (to reduce multiple requests/revisions). If you don’t receive a confirmation of your fax or email within 24-48 hours, please call 951-491-0808 to confirm that it was received (and leave a message with name and phone number if we do not answer. We do not return calls without messages being left.) PLEASE SPEND SOME QUALITY TIME ON YOUR PIT MAP DESIGN – THIS IS CRITICAL TO GETTING WHAT YOU NEED! Fuel In The Pits? ABSOLUTELY NOT!Our usual TIGHT restrictions from the Clark County Fire Department means ABSOLUTELY NO FUEL IS ALLOWED TO BE BROUGHT INTO THE PITS! ALL Trailers will be inspected and turned away (or parked off-site) if fuel is found on board. The only exception is 5 or less gallons of generator fuel per trailer (and a minimal amount in kart fuel tanks). All fuel/oil needed for this event will be sold on site every day and stored in the farm. NO pre-orders are necessary or requested.Additionally, Please refer to SKUSA rulebook update10.4.1.3.1 with regards to Fire Extinguishers, as these rules will be strictly enforced:
“10.4.1.3.1 Fire Extinguishers: Every entrant’s pit area shall have a minimum of one 5-lb type ABC rated fire extinguisher for every 400 square feet of pit area. Fire extinguishers must be visible and accessible at all times. Competitors with trailers over 20-ft long shall have a minimum of one 20-lb type ABC fire extinguisher for the trailer in addition to one 5-lb unit for each 400 square feet of pit area. All competitors within a pit area that are found to be noncompliant at an event will be removed from competition until in compliance.” A Pit Spot Drawing is Mandatory – 280 Square-Foot-Rule Applies! For every driver and/or team needing a pit spot, if you know EXACTLY how much space you will need for your pit spot, AND IF ALL DRIVERS IN YOUR PIT SPOT ARE ALREADY REGISTERED for the race, you are ready to submit your pit request.Due to the uniqueness of this venue’s paddock and the amount of teams attending, we will be reviewing pit requests very carefully to assure each space requested is used as efficiently as possible. An efficient pit utilizes no more than 280 square feet per competitor. With the exception of a single entry in a single pit space, there MUST be an entered driver listed on the map or attached sheet per 280 square feet or the request will be returned back to you as “incomplete”. Please scan and email (or fax) a complete drawing to the SKUSA office. What your drawing must include is described below, AND WILL BE REJECTED IF IT IS INCOMPLETE. If you are faxing a drawing, it’s a good idea to call to verify receipt. Fax # again is 951-491-0809 and phone # again is 951-491-0808. Please DO NOT send a note that just says, “I want what I had last year.” All pit layout details, including a complete driver list, AND ANY SPECIAL REQUESTS must be submitted IN WRITING for approval. The general area pits are mostly rows of spots 10’W x 40’D, although there are a few sections that vary in size (Row sizes are listed at the end or beginning of each row). Your drawing MUST reflect multiples of these areas AS WELL AS SPECIFY YOUR TOP 3 PREFERRED LOCATIONS by row and space number, per the attached pit map.

Pit Request SubmittalsHere are the items to include on your PIT REQUEST drawing:Note: All items below must be addressed and completed in order for SKUSA to consider your pit request as valid.
Sponsor/Vendor Spots Are AvailablePer the pit map posted above, SKUSA has up to 26-10’ x 15’ spots right on the main foot traffic isle of Supernats 23 – as well as custom spaces available – for approved vendors and/or sponsors to display or sell products. Any interested parties that have not already been in contact with the SKUSA head office, please send an email immediately to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with info on your company, your display needs, and to request a brochure with pricing/availability on either pre-tented or un-tented spaces. If you have not received a response to your emailed request, please call and leave a message at 951-491-0808.Rental Tents and Equipment – Exclusive Tent Vendor: Source 1 EventsThe EXCLUSIVE rental tent vendor is Source 1 Events (formerly Nevada Tent & Events). NO OTHER TENT VENDORS WILL BE ALLOWED ON SITE. Their contact info, as well as some new 2019 requirements, are posted below. They also have additional rental items – like tables, chairs, linens, and rental equipment. Contact them ASAP to order what you will need, based on your requested pit space. We will work with them to finalize the size and location of your rental tent and equipment. Remember, a 20x20’ tent will not fit in a 20x20’ space. The tent needs room for stakes to hold it down. Keep this in mind when determining your pit and tent size.Source 1 Events will be installing tents on a first ordered-first installed basis. An “Early Bird discount” of $1.10 per square foot will be applied to all orders received and paid by 11/1/2019. All orders placed or paid after 11/1 will be charged at the premium rate of $1.50 per square foot.
Source 1 Events Tent Permits - Self-Owned TentsAs some of you have already heard, there are some new rules and requirements for SELF-OWNED tents and tent permits. Click HERE for these new rules, and HERE for a sample flame-retardant certificate. Any staking of self-owned tents MUST be done by Source One Events. Contact them to get on the list.Other Rental EquipmentDue to insurance reasons, any teams choosing to rent other electrical items for their pit spot, like a generator, must notify Superkarts! USA, in addition to renting them from Source 1, as these rental items must be secured/documented through our operations department. Enter the staging lot from Twain Dr.(by the Carnival World Buffet sign).ALL teams must enter from this direction ONLY.NOTE: The paddock area defined as the “G” section is the staging area for all teams awaiting to be placed in their pit space. Due to this, any team assigned a pit space in the G-section will not be placed until Monday the 18th regardless of size trailer. Full move-in must be complete by Tuesday evening, Nov.19th at 6pm. Pits will be closed and no further pitting or placement of trailers will take place after this time, as practice starts Wednesday morning, the 20th (without prior approval from SKUSA). A tentative event schedule is posted HERE. Trailer PlacementNo trailer(s) will be placed UNLESS the team manager or the person who ordered the space is present. Teams with multiple trailers must have the team manager present to proceed. Hired drivers must have a copy of the receipt, drawing and a direct contact number of the owner or team manager.Tow VehiclesUpon placement and disconnect of the trailer, tow vehicles are to be parked in the designated parking lots and garages provided by the Rio. All tow vehicles will be marked upon entering the paddock with the corresponding pit space number. Any vehicle that does not have this identification or is found to have altered this identification will be towed without notice – and will not be allowed back into the pits for move-out. Note: Tow vehicles are not rental cars or vans full of people; these vehicles are expected to park in the designated visitor/guest/spectator areas provided by the Rio. Vehicles that are bringing in equipment will be marked and expected to unload within a reasonable amount of time and park in the designated areas provided.Pit Move-OutMove out will begin Sunday night, Nov. 24th at approx. 4:30pm (at the conclusion of podium awards at scales and final clearance at Tech), and must be complete by 1pm on Monday, Nov. 25th (keep your wristband on for access to the parking lot on Monday for move-out). If you need access to the pit area beyond these hours, contact the Operations Director (Stan). Refer to the event schedule and signs posted on site for more move-out details.NOTE: Due to insurance regulations and permit stipulations enforced by Clark County, no unauthorized vehicles are allowed to move within the pit area – and all lanes must remain open and unobstructed – while the track is hot. Additionally, NO early move-out can take place, as described above. In order to secure personal belongings and safety, the pit area will be locked down until official move-out begins. Any violation of this policy will affect future participation in any and all Superkarts! USA events. Pit Spot Confirmation/BillingThe SKUSA office personnel will be in touch to confirm each pit reservation submitted, and will secure payment with you when we have you placed on the pit map.
