Superkarts! USA CEO, Tom Kutscher, is wasting no time delivering on his promise of making the 2006 running of the SKUSA SuperNats X the biggest and best yet. The total SuperPro purse will be $20,000, with $10k going to the winner and the balance going to other top finishers.“$10k for 10 years! I thought it had a ring to it,” said Kutscher about the dollar figure in place for first place in the SuperPro Class.

The prestige that accompanies the winner of the SuperNats SuperPro class is unequaled in North American karting circles. Now, the cash that accompanies the win is unequaled as well.

“Alongside the buzz this payout will surely generate, it will also create the most measurable amount of pressure the event has ever seen,” according to Kutscher, adding, “a lot is on the line for the SuperPro win, and it should make for a very interesting race weekend come November!” Kutscher would also like to point out that all SuperPro drivers finishing in the money will receive their checks while standing on the podium after the final.

The class structure for SuperNats X, as follows:

A reduced class structure means longer seat time for all drivers, as well as the elimination of track time under the lights at this year’s event. This will enable drivers, crew, family and fans to enjoy more of Las Vegas than ever before outside of the race facility.

“The decision to limit classes to drivers 14 years of age and older is a deliberate one this year for SuperNats X, but is in NO WAY indicative of SKUSA’s overall mission to deliver the regional racer a fully rounded and integrated grass roots program in their area in 2007 and beyond, and that includes the Junior classes for young drivers, wherever it may make sense.”

Anyone familiar with SKUSA’s west coast region, the ProKart Challenge, will see that a business model which includes Junior classes simply doesn’t make sense for the Southern California marketplace where junior classes are more than adequately covered by other organizations but that is not necessarily the case elsewhere. This year, the organization is following a proven track record, as well as what best suits their target objectives for the SuperNats.

“It’s a formula that has proven very successful for the new SKUSA team thus far,” added Kutscher.

Also on deck for Superkarts! USA is a steady stream of announcements regarding 2006-2007 Superkarts! USA rules, TaG weights, race registration, tires, hotel information, pit space reservations, special events and additional value for all participants while in the Las Vegas area during the race weekend. Race sponsors will also be announced over the next several weeks. An announcement regarding a newly created pole position award for the quickest driver during the SuperPro’s “Hour Of Power” qualifying session is also being readied.

Of special note, Superkarts! USA will also continue its involvement in this year’s Rock Island Grand Prix, the now legendary yearly event over the September Labor Day weekend in Rock Island, IL. SKUSA has been a long time supporter of the race and is the class sponsor for the 30-lap Main event, the “King of the Streets” - a pro level class race running under the SKUSA rule package.
