 If there’s one thing that goes hand in hand with any sport, it’s time. Winners and losers are decided by fractions of a second, and that were never truer than in competitive racing. Timepiece makers have long recognized the symbiotic relationship between the two, and virtually any sport in the world can speak of timekeeper affiliations. For the 14th annual SKUSA SuperNationals, Superkarts! USA is pleased to announce a new partnership unique to the sport of karting with renowned French watchmaker: Bernard Richards Manufacture (BRM). The company has a vast relationship with motorsport, with numerous partnerships in both open wheel and prototype racing. The brand is synonymous with precision and excellence, offering a line of luxurious chronographs featuring precise automatic movement. BRM has agreed to offer a handsome prize package for this year’s TaG Sr. and S4 race winners. Each will receive a one of a kind, custom-‐built commemorative watch to recognize their achievement. It’s a prize worthy of a SuperNationals win and has a retail value of approximately $5,000 USD. “It’s bad ass,” remarked SKUSA’s fiery CEO Tom Kutscher. “For years, we’ve sought partnerships that yielded direct benefits to our racers. With an opportunity to win a one off luxury time piece from BRM, it doesn’t get any more direct than that.” In addition to providing the unique race trophies for the winners, BRM will also be providing technical prowess in the official race time for the event. With the best of the best set to compete in this year’s event, the extra level of accuracy will add another layer of redundancy. What about the drivers who don’t win, or have a little bad racing luck? BRM has addressed this too. For those who aren’t fortunate enough to win a BRM prize, there will be a limited edition run of 14 watches available for sale to commemorate the event. “It’s a big step for karting, no doubt,” added Kutscher. “There is an unfulfilled desire in any karting paddock to have our sport looked at alongside any other series. The fact BRM recognizes karting amongst other series it supports… it’s a testament to their insight and forward thinking.
