SKUSA and PKC Rule Changes for 2011

Rear Protection:
Effective January 1, 2011, all competitors in SKUSA events are required to have full width rear protection (see below).  We realize that some may not have time to install the necessary protection by the first PKC events this year. Accordingly, we will allow an additional period for competitors to conform.  By the second scheduled race in both regions, you will be required to have the rear protection installed. All karts that compete in a SKUSA event must have at a minimum: (a) Two CIK or CIK-style side pods with side bars; (b) front and rear bumpers approved by CIK, IKF,WKA or SKUSA; (c) Driver fairing – CIK style and must have a minimum of 3” clearance to any part of the steering wheel; (d) CIK nose; and (e) rear protection designed to protect the kart and driver (effective January 1, 2011). The rear protection may be either CIK style plastic or steel tube of double-bar design. The rear protection shall extend to at least the center of the rear tires. The ends of the rear protection may not extend beyond the outside of the rear tire/wheel assembly except in a declared rain race.

As a result of our experience at SuperNationals 14, as well as other field input, we are going to allow VP MS93 for Rotax competitors. This will bring our rules package directly in line with USRMC rules and reflect what the majority of Rotax competitors are using.  This change should allow an easier transition between Rotax events and SKUSA events and eliminate complaints regarding jetting issues.

Important:  Drivers wanting to use MS93 must bring their own fuel to each event, as it will not be supplied by PKC/SKUSA. It must also be able to pass fuel testing by the technical staff.
