SKUSA Offers Racers a Reservation for SuperNats with their SummerNats Entry!
Tuesday, 07 June 2011 23:37
This year’s SKUSA SuperNationals is less than six months away, and as is the case with an event of this magnitude, long-range planning is crucial to the success of the race.  SKUSA opened the online registration for the race on June 1, and while pre-entries are coming in on a regular basis, the SKUSA staff once again understands that by opening the registration for both the SummerNationals (Grand Junction, CO -- July 15-17) and the SuperNationals (Vegas, NV -- Nov 16-20) in the month of June, a financial strain has been put on a number of Superkarts! USA competitors. So, in an effort to support its customers, SKUSA’s Tom Kutscher has again confirmed that any driver who enters the SummerNationals can have their spot in the SuperNationals reserved until later in the summer.

Entry and payment for the SuperNationals may be deferred until August 15 to ease the burden. Those wishing to take advantage of this opportunity are asked to either send an email to Superkarts! USA ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) AFTER they have pre-entered for SummerNats, or add the note in the Special Instructions box at the bottom of the Online Entry Form.

Hope to see you in Colorado AND Las Vegas!

SKUSA Opens Registration June 1 for SuperNationals XV
Tuesday, 31 May 2011 09:16
If you visit the Superkarts! USA website today, you will see there are only 169 days left until the organization’s marquee event – the SKUSA SuperNationals. Oh yes, it’s coming – and it’s going to be big. Last year’s event reached historic measures, with 500 competitors traveling in from all across North America and around the world. The race will return to the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on November 16-20, and this year’s competition will be the landmark 15th edition of the great event. To help start the race to SuperNationals glory, the organization is happy to open up their online registration on June 1.

With all of the categories on the line-up utilizing a cap on the number of entries to participate, SKUSA is anticipating that they will see many of the classes fill up quickly, as they have for the past few seasons. The online registration for the SKUSA SuperNationals XV will go live at http://www.skusastore.com at midnight on Tuesday, May 31. Drivers wishing to be certain that they will be included in the event are encouraged to enter as soon as possible. The weekend schedule has its limits, and only a couple of classes will be extended past the 40-driver mark.

“It’s hard to believe that the 15th edition of the SuperNats is just around the corner,” stated Superkarts! USA President Tom Kutscher. “I can remember racing in the early years of the event, and now having promoted the last five editions, it’s amazing when you realize where it is today. I can’t thank our dedicated staff enough for all of their hard work over the years – and the support of those who come every year to participate, making the event what it is. We have a lot of things in the works to help celebrate this 15th year. Put that together with what we expect to be another stacked driver roster enjoying the atmosphere of Las Vegas, and this year’s event will be like no other.”

ProKart Challenge South Tackles Streets of Willow Circuit
Wednesday, 18 May 2011 08:04
Running over 100mph just one inch off the ground is an adrenaline rush like no other. That was just one of the many factors why karters gathered at the Streets of Willow complex inside the Willow Springs International Motorsports Park in Rosamond, California this past weekend. Superkarts! USA hosted round four of the six-race ProKart Challenge South championship series, coming off the very successful SKUSA Pro Tour opener just two weeks earlier. The title hunt for the ten categories competing on the 1.8-mile course raged on, with Brad Dunford establishing himself as the driver to beat for the championship in the headline S1 Pro Stock Moto category with win two of the season, while Devin Lindsey tossed his name in the hat for the TaG Senior chase with his first victory of the year.

The California karting scene is a hotbed for some of the best TaG Senior drivers in the country. Many of them took on the fast-paced Streets circuit searching for more glory in the Tony Kart West-sponsored category. Mason Marotta and Matt Johnson were the leaders of the pack through much of the day. Marotta posted the fast lap in qualifying (1:19.231), with Johnson in second. The Cricca brothers, Chris and Shawn, were third and fourth – all within a two-tenths of one another. Marotta and Johnson partnered up to drive away to a five-second win in the opening 10-lap heat race, and worked together in the second – only to have Johnson slingshot around Marotta for the win. In the 16-lap main event, Lindsey would join the mix at the front of the field after running inside the top-five all day. Once to the lead by lap five, Lindsey and Johnson would push themselves to a 1-2 finish, with the victory and fast lap credit with 10 important championship points going to Lindsey. Adrian Starrantino was able to track down Marotta on the final circuit to steal the third podium step, with Shawn Cricca in fifth over point leader Travis Lowe.
