SKUSA Events Update
Friday, 27 March 2020 08:14
First and foremost, SKUSA would like to express our gratitude for everyone’s understanding and demeaner following the mandated cancellation of our WinterNationals at NOLA Motorsports Park just mere weeks ago. We were just as heartbroken as all of you but found comfort in the display of camaraderie throughout the paddock as we all packed up for the trip home.

As we are all aware; our cities, states, country and the world are dealing with the effects of Covid-19 and we all pray the end is near. We hope everyone has been staying safe and healthy, particularly our partners, customers and friends in Italy that have seemingly been hit the hardest.

SKUSA has been busy planning for the near future and would like to share some of what we have been working on.

Our plan for the ‘make-up’ race for NOLA came from the paddock, and we can’t think of a better idea. Understand, this is all contingent on how fast we can resume racing, but this is what we have been working on with UMC and NCMP.

We will be adding a 3rd round of racing to each of the remaining Pro Tour events. Our current thinking is to do this round on Friday, but we are playing with variations of practice days and racing. If you were a paid entry in NOLA, you won’t have to pay again for those extra days of racing. If you still have your race tires you will be allowed to use them for the make-up round. If you weren’t at NOLA, you will need to pay for that additional round of racing at each event you attend. These are details we will finalize and share once we know when we can resume racing.

Following leading motorsports series like IndyCar, IMSA and Nascar, we have tentatively rescheduled the SpringNationals (now Rounds 1-3) in Utah Motorsports Campus for the last weekend of May, or the first weekend of June, contingent on how things develop over the next several weeks. The dates for the SummerNationals (now Rounds 4-6) have not changed but will now start a day earlier on August 6th.

We are also looking at options to make up the cancelled event in Monterey for the California PKC and have several plans, again contingent on when we can resume racing. Options include adding a round to races already on our calendars to adding an event to one of the more popular tracks in the region.

That’s it for now. We will provide another update when the circumstances dictate.

Stay safe and stay healthy.
